Charity Preview: 26th of October, 6:00pm
The producers of Stalk have partnered with the Chicago Children’s Advocacy Center for a very special evening of theatre on October 26th. The proceeds from this extraordinary gala preview go to the Center. A $40 ticket includes: a donation to the Center, admission to the play and pre-show reception, and a short talk back with cast members, the playwright and CCAC staff after the show. The event starts at 6:00pm with the show at 7:30.
Each year, the Chicago Children’s Advocacy Center (CCAC) serves over 2,000 children, age 0-17, following reports of sexual abuse and assault. Child abuse has no happy endings, but with education, counseling, and access to resources like the CCAC, children can begin the healing process. Jack, the main character of Stalk, tries to cope with abuse every day. By working with the CCAC, Stalk aims to raise awareness not only about the problem, but about solutions as well. The performance can spark the conversation that starts the healing process for the individual and the community. The gala preview will give attendees the unique opportunity to experience Stalk’s first performance and speak candidly with the playwright and cast as well as child welfare professionals about the problem of child abuse and solutions.
